FAQ

Everything you'd ask us on WhatsApp.

Still stuck? Message us — we answer fast, especially on crawl nights.

What nights does the bar crawl run, and what time does it start?

We run Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 6 PM, Saturday at 7 PM. Karaoke is on Sunday, Monday and Wednesday. Meet us at El Milagro at the start time — the open bar starts on the dot and runs for two hours, so every minute late is a drink you are not having.

Where do we meet?

Two options. Meet at Lura Hostel (7a Calle Poniente #15, Antigua Guatemala) at 5:45 PM (6:45 PM on Saturdays) and we all head to the first bar together, or go straight to El Milagro (7a Calle Poniente #11, Antigua Guatemala — Rooftop bar — second level, above the mattress store.) for the start time. Either way, give your name at the door and grab your wristband.

How much does it cost and what do I get?

Q155 gets you two hours of unlimited rum, vodka and tequila mixed drinks at the first bar, a free welcome shot at every stop, drink deals all night, free entry to the club (worth up to Q100) plus another free shot when we get there, a wristband, drinking games and a host looking after you for the whole night.

Do I need to book, or can I just turn up?

You can just turn up and pay Q200 cash at the door if there is space, but booking ahead is cheaper and safer: reserve online for Q55 and pay the remaining Q100 in cash at the door, (Q155 in total), or pay in full by card. Saturdays regularly sell out, and online booking closes shortly before the open bar ends.

How does the deposit work?

Pay Q55 now to hold your spot, then Q100 cash when you arrive (Q155 in total). Paying in full online is Q165 — cards cost us a little more, which is why the deposit-plus-cash route saves you Q10. Turning up on the night without a booking is Q200.

Why is my card charged in Australian dollars?

We are Aussie-run and our card processor is Australian, so online payments are charged in AUD. The booking page shows you the converted amount before you pay, and everyone knows Aussies throw the best bar crawls.

What is the open bar, exactly?

From the start time for two hours at El Milagro you can drink as much rum, vodka and tequila as you like, mixed with whatever is on the bar. Beer and cocktails are not part of the open bar but are available at the bar's normal prices.

What happens after the open bar?

We walk as a group to the next bars — each one gives you a free welcome shot and our crawler drink deals — and finish at the best club in Antigua, where your wristband gets you in free and a free shot at the bar. The crawl ends at the club; stay as long as you like.

What time does it finish?

We arrive at the club later in the evening and that is where the crawl ends. Bars in Antigua close at 1 AM, so plan on a big night rather than an all-nighter. You are free to peel off whenever you like along the way.

I am travelling solo — is that OK?

Most of our crawlers come alone. The hosts introduce everyone, the drinking games at the first bar do the rest, and by the second bar you will have a group. It is the easiest way to meet people in Antigua.

Is there an age limit? Do I need ID?

You must be 18 or over, the legal drinking age in Guatemala. Bring a photo ID (a copy or photo of your passport is fine) — the club can ask for it at the door.

Cash or card?

The door and the balance on a deposit are cash in quetzales. Online bookings are by card. Bars along the route take cash and most take cards, but small cash makes the drink deals quicker.

Can I change my night or cancel?

Plans change — message us on WhatsApp and we will move your booking to another night. Deposits hold a spot on a specific night, so let us know before the crawl starts if you cannot make it.

What if I arrive late?

Come to El Milagro and give your name at the door — you can join any time during the open bar. If we have already moved on, message us on WhatsApp and we will tell you which bar we are at.

Can I meet you at Lura?

Yes — Lura Hostel is our home base, two blocks from parque central — same street as el milagro. Be there for 5:45 PM (6:45 PM on Saturdays) and we walk over to El Milagro together for the start of the open bar. If you are running late, skip Lura and come straight to El Milagro.

Which nights have karaoke?

Karaoke is on Sunday, Monday and Wednesday — it is part of the first bar during the open bar, so no extra cost and no pressure to sing (but you will).

Is there a dress code?

No. Come as you are — Antigua is relaxed and the club lets our wristbands in as they are. Comfortable shoes are a good idea: it is a walking crawl on cobblestones.

Do I have to drink?

No. Plenty of people come for the people, the karaoke and the club. Everything else — the hosts, the games, the free entry — is the same whether or not you drink.

Is it safe? How do I get home?

We stay together as a group between bars and our hosts are with you the whole way. Everything on the route is within a few blocks of the central park. Tuk-tuks and taxis are easy to find outside the club, and the hosts will happily point you to one.

Can I bring a group, or book a private crawl?

Absolutely — birthdays, stag and hen nights, hostel groups. Book online for up to ten people, and for bigger groups or a private crawl message us on WhatsApp and we will sort it out.

Can I leave the club and come back in?

If you leave the final venue you will need to line up again, but you will not pay cover. If a venue asks anyone to leave for disorderly conduct we cannot get them back in.

Do you sell t-shirts?

Yes — Antigua Bar Crawl shirts are on sale at the first bar. Ask your host.

Does it run in the rain?

Rain or shine. The first bar is a covered rooftop, and Antigua's rain usually clears by the evening anyway.

How do I contact you on the night?

WhatsApp is fastest: tap the WhatsApp button anywhere on this page. You can also call or text +502 4273 9926.
